Good music, creative arts, an inclusive and diverse community that thrives on fresh food and delights in the stunning scenery which is a daily four seasons backdrop to life in The Cowichan - that is what inspired this short film.
The Economic Development Association of BC and BC Hydro's BC Economic Development Awards recognizes the province's best economic development marketing materials; programs and partnerships. These prestigious awards honour organizations and/or individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in urban, suburban, and rural communities.
There are 2 categories of awards:
- Communities < than 20,000 population
- Communities > than 20,000 population
Community Project Award:
- Communties < than 20,000 population
- Communities >than 20,000 population
Entry Fee: $60.00 + GST

The Economic Development Association of BC is teaming up with the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) in order to bring its 2-day Investment Development 101 Course to Vancouver in April and again in June, following the BC Economic Summit.
The session is delivered by Bernard Lemay, PhD, Senior Advisor Investment Training at DFAIT, focused on providing participants with an overview of investment promotion, prospecting and services functions. It also provides a great networking opportunity and dynamic forum to discuss roles and responsibilities, while at the same time, consolidating federal, provincial/territorial, regional and local partnerships.
One of our EDABC Members iswanting to draft a Terms of Reference regarding the formation of a Response Team, to be utilized when responding to some concerns of businesses and to also provide valuable feeedback to the organzation, to help guide the BRE initiative.
