BC Hydro - Business & Economic Development Team

The Business & Economic Development team at BC Hydro was formed about a year ago with a mandate to proactively attract new, large power customers to their service territory. Recently, the team launched a new webpage to promote British Columbia as a great place to invest. The Business & Economic Development team provides a single point of contact for new businesses wanting to locate in BC. The team helps prospective customers understand how to get connected to BC Hydro’s clean electricity grid, anticipated electricity costs and possible options for where to locate. Hiring & Workforce Housing Forum

Hours: 9am-5pm with Wine & Cheese Reception to follow
Location: Penticton Lakeside Resort
Website: www.hiringandhousingforum.com
Registration: $50pp ($35 early bird until August 4th)

To attract great people, we need great places to live. In today’s highly competitive hiring marketplace, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to attract and retain skilled labour. One of the greatest barriers includes our ever-tightening housing market and a shortage of suitable rental accommodation. The Hiring & Workforce Housing Forum is a unique and outcome-focused approach to these intricately-related challenges.

Leading experts from across Canada will come together to tackle these topics. Attendees will take part in hands-on workshops, be inspired by the latest concepts and get results. This event will incorporate two streams of topics running simultaneously, essentially bringing together two forums under one roof. Vendors are invited to showcase their services and products at the marketplace.

The full-day forum is brought to you by the City of Penticton’s Economic Development department. Registration open now - early bird rates end August 4th. Agenda details available on the event website: www.hiringandhousingforum.com

EXPERT SPEAKERS. INTERACTIVE WORKSHOPS. SAME-DAY OUTCOMES.
